Debbie’s innate ability to connect has made her an inspiration for people everywhere. Home designer, television host and producer, best-selling author, sought-after public speaker, and host of her Tuscan getaways, Debbie pours her heart into every part of her business empire and motivates everyone to find their own, personal joy.
Born in England, Debbie transformed her early training at Art College and a career as a fashion model into television production. She married and moved to Canada at 30, started a paint and design business and became a leader in the paint and decorating business in North America. Her special talent for design coupled with her dry British wit made Debbie Travis a beloved television icon around the world.

Debbie created one of North America’s first decorating shows, Debbie Travis’ Painted House. This successful series was followed by Debbie Travis’ Facelift, From the Ground Up and All for One. She then hosted and produced La Dolce Debbie for the OWN Network about renovating her villa in Tuscany. La Dolce Debbie can also be seen on the Abode and Only Human channels on YouTube.
Debbie was a frequent guest on Oprah, Regis and Kelly, Marilyn Denis, Good Morning America and many more.
Debbie is currently working on her 12th book, which will be published October 2024 by Penguin Random House. Her writing career began with a series of design and decorating books based on her television series, and which won her the Libris Award. As her success grew as a business woman, these were followed by Not Guilty, which shares her mostly comical experiences and advice on being a working mom, Design Your Next Chapter, a bestseller about her experience of leaping from the television world to renovating a ruin in Tuscany, Italy and JOY - Life Lessons From a Tuscan Villa, published in 2021.
Widening her sphere of influence, Debbie came to a crossroad in her life and moved in a completely different direction. Recognizing the need to revitalize both her life and those of others, Debbie transformed a seven-hundred year old Tuscan farmhouse and 100-acre working farm into a wellness and retreat center. Here she runs week-long Girls’ Getaways and Classic Car Rallies and produces an exceptional organic olive oil as well as lavender products.
