Dear Debbie;

I am thinking about painting the ceiling in my daughter’s bedroom. She would like stars that twinkle. I am a novice painter, is this too difficult for me to take on? What’s the best way to make the stars? I really need your help. Thanks.

You can do this. Enlist the help of a friend as painting a ceiling can literally be a pain in the neck...

If you were to guess what type of people lived in a home with this totally happy kids’ room, there’s little doubt that they would be youthful, energetic, and perhaps a bit zany. Bright crayon-box colours are mixed up everywhere. The large carpet tiles from Centura set the tone. Slightly muted shades of their Ombra series — yellow, blue, orange and red have been placed in a repeat pattern that almost feels random. Stronger splashes of each of the tile colours are picked up throughout the room: the hot orange hanging shade, the lemon yellow bedside light, the burnt orange desk chair, the striped bedding and the artwork. Plain painted blue walls bring a perfect balance of cool energy to these high power colours.
